Unbelievable. Life sure can throw some good curve balls. About 6 weeks ago my company went under, with no notice given to me. So finding a new job has been my focus and I forgot completely about this blog. Anyway, I am now employed, and actually got in a pretty good workout schedule during my unemployed weeks. I have been running consistently and hitting the gym at least twice a week. I think I’m weighing in at 231, so nothing drastic, but I’m down nine pounds from day one. Ive made slight improvements to my diet, but the weight lost has been almost completely from exercise. I’m gonna try harder to get consistent at posting on here, it really is a helpful tool.
Update
May 7, 2007I haven’t been keeping track of my weight each day, but I have done really good with my lowering food intake and eating good foods. I haven’t got the exercise consistent yet, but I’m running once or twice a week and lifting weights once…not good, but better than nothing. That is my real focus this week, to exercise every day. My plan is to take updated pics of my fat body every 2 weeks, so tune in next Monday to see how far I’ve come!
The New Day 1
April 30, 2007Well, I am still down a few pounds from my start date. Thats better than a poke in the eye with a short stick. I took a big step and photographed myself for the first time since my weight gain. I am only 26 and just 3 years ago I was 185 pounds and looked ripped and tan for my honeymoon. Now 3 years later this is what I have become! I gained about 55 pounds and its not pretty, but I need to post it for motivation.
History Repeats Itself
April 27, 2007Well, I am ashamed. I fell completely off the diet for a full week. Maybe you the reader will understand my problem. I can diet in very controlled situations, which is why I do very well Monday through Friday, but as soon as some schedule change comes into play, I am done. I ate out twice last weekend, not really by choice, but I still made no effort to control my eating at either meal. I ate so much that by Sunday I had said screw it and told myself “The diet starts again Monday!”….well, Monday came, and I realized I had to be at a business conference all week about 50 miles away. No meals planned, a long commute each day, and not getting home for dinner until 8 PM. Needless to say, I have not lost any weight, and though I haven’t weighed myself, I am guessing I’m right back where I started.
I promise I will post some Pics of my fat self by Monday, as I think they will help commit me, and I will start with the weigh in tomorrow! NOT MONDAY, there is no time like the present…Right?
Day 5- The Weight Loss Wall
April 20, 2007Well, the ride is officially over. Here comes the hard part. For the first time on my diet I have weighed in heavier than the previous day, to me, this is where the diet truly starts. It’s always easy those first few days when the pounds are flying off, here is where it starts to take real dedication, as I don’t think I’ll lose more than 2 or 3 pounds a week at absolute most.
Stats- April 20th 231.00 lbs

Day 4- Enjoy the Ride
April 19, 2007I am well aware that one can lose a large amount of weight in the first week of a diet, before it tapers off. So I am preparing myself for the wall I’m about to hit, though I can’t deny I’m enjoying this fast ride so far!
Stats- April 19th 230.00 lbs

Day 3- Lose a little weight at time
April 18, 2007I am shocked. I thought for sure I would end up weighing in more than yesterday, but I still dropped a half pound. I followed pretty much the same meal plan and cheated a little with a bit of my wifes Cafe-Rio salad (they are not good for you), and at night weighed in at 236. Before I went to bed I did a short Circuit training set with a 45 lb olympic bar (I’ll add the details of this workout later, its great, I did it in high school football a lot).
Stats: April 18th I weighed in at 233 lbs.
Day 2- What the…?
April 17, 2007I have the craziest body, I can gain and lose up to 10 pounds in a matter of days! I ate a ton on Sunday and then weighed in at 240.5 on Monday morning. I ate good all day yesterday (I did not starve myself, I ate the exact meal plan outlined in “My meal plans” section.) and ran about 2 miles last night, and this morning I weighed in at 233.5! As cool as that sounds, it is a little depressing because I am almost guaranteed to weigh more tomorrow, oh well.
Stats: April 17th I weighed in at 233.5 pounds.
My Ideal Meal Plan
April 16, 2007This is a rough sketch of what I will attempt to eat this week…. Read the rest of this entry »
Day 1- Introduction
April 16, 2007This blog is what it is. I am going to document my attempt to lose 40-55 lbs. I am doing this for myself, as a way to track my progress. If anyone reads it, I hope it is enjoyable and simple. I’m not going to spend a lot of time “blogging” about my progress for the time being, I’ll simply post my stats and Maybe some progressive pics of my fat body as it loses weight..we’ll see. If things start going really well, I’ll then take the time to expound on the things that have helped me lose the weight, but until I prove myself, I’m guessing you don’t care!! The following is my overall goals and start-point stats
Goals:
- Get down to 200 pounds and then evaluate new weight goal. I weighed 185 pounds on my wedding day almost 3 years ago, I have since gained 55.5 pounds and weighed in today at 240.5.
- Run a 5k under 25 minutes by end of July, at that point schedule a marathon to train for. I used to run a lot, and now my weight has made it very hard on my joints, so I’ll start easy.
- Update this blog at least 3 times a week. I feel continually updating this blog will give me a sense of accountability in my weight loss. I generally lose weight very quickly up front in past diets, but then fall off the diet and don’t get back on, my hope is that this will keep me on track.
Stats:
- April 16th 2007 I weighed in at 240.5 lbs (I’m only 5′11, so thats not good.)
- I just ran 2 miles last week, and it took me roughly 24 minutes! I’ll update this stat weekly.
